Back again, (wow, twice in one day!) to let you know that I’ll be working in the coming weeks to get the Capolan website update, with new projects listings, new artist spotlighted and other works of art to view. Hope to see you there.

Greetings Travelers… I thought I’d plug the new book, “Collaborative Art Journals and Shared Visions in Mixed Media” by Lori Kay Ludwig. Not only is this a great “eye candy” book, but The Capolan Exchange is profiled in it. ;P I was happy to see many works of art by folks I’ve come to know over the years as well. Check it out!

Greetings Travelers… It’s been a long while since I updated my thingie here but not for lack of events and things to talk about. My darling, Nova Joy, granddaughter arrived November 15 2008, same day a year earlier her cousin was born AND it’s the same day (NOT same year) as her father’s birthday. She has been the JOY of my life these days and what they say is true -being a grandparent is WAY better than being the parent. ;P
I’ve been learning Photoshop CS3 (having received hands on training from the generous Michele J of Digital Disonance) and I find myself obsessing now on digital art as I once did over rubber stamped works. I hope to be adding my “play” pieces on a regular basis and hope to hear from you folks as you see and check in.

I did this “sort of” self portrait based on one of my favorite character, Delirium, from The Sandman graphic novels. She and I seem to have a lot in common.

I was sitting out on my porch this morning, reading in my newly acquired Pasticcio mag (love it BTW!) and feeling kind of down. It’s been a rough few weeks. I usually sit there every morning while the birdees get into the seed I’ve put out. Well, this morning I saw a dragonfly. Now, I HAVE seen them before, but mostly kind of commmon ones. Maybe what they were weren’t even dragonflies, but THIS ONE! It was BEAUTIFUL! He lit on a sunflower and just stayed there while I came up close. He had transparent wings of orange, with black edges and a body of orange as well. I was just awed at his beauty. My mood was changed and I realized I’d just gotten a hug of encouragement from my Maker.
Wanted to share this. (Now to go journal it!)

Greetings Travelers… I’m glad to mention that my WebMagician has updated the Capolan Website. Great new eye candy to view. Specifically in the “Master Artists” and “Member Spotlight” categories. Take a look.

Greetings Travelers… Well, I THINK I have finished the selection process for consideration for publication. I found that several artists’ works, kept popping up in my stash, reminding me that THAT’S why these particular folks are successful, published artists. They’re just SO dang TALENTED!
Now I’m wondering, is it a bit of a “spoiler” to upload their works on the blog or website IF that same work is going to be published? I’m such a newbie on this kind of thing, can you tell?

If one looks closely they might see the photographer (me) in the window’s reflection.

The kitties lie in wait trying to catch my birdies, under the shade of these trees and shrubs.
